And the winner is…

Last night, a group of children’s and teen librarians from all around Westchester county met to choose winners for our mock Caldecott, Newbery, and Printz awards. Although the Caldecott group didn’t choose a winner, the other two groups chose the following:

The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate, by Jacqueline Kelly was voted the mock Newbery winner.

Our Newbery Honor books were When You Reach Me, by Rebecca Stead, and Almost Astronauts: 13 Women Who Dared to Dream, by Tanya Lee Stone.

The Printz award group chose Marcelo in the Real World, by Francisco X. Stork.

The American Library Association will announce the 2010 winners to these and a number of other awards on January 18.
