Rats are synonymous with creepy right? Well not everyone who came to Factual Fridays to discuss Albert Marrin’s Oh Rats! felt that way.  We welcomed a group of 4 kids, 2, 3rd grade boys and 2, 5th grade girls.  The boys embraced the topic a bit more than the girls, but everyone agreed that the book was interesting and full of facts that will make them sound like geniuses in conversations with friends and teachers.  We learned that rats have collapsible skeletons and can squeeze through most plumbing pipes.  The take home message was  make sure you look before you use the bathroom toilet. The afternoon was filled with laughs and ended with a rat snack.  Please join us on February 14th as we discuss Quest for the Tree Kangaroo by Sy Montgomery.  Snacks will be served and undoubtedly the tree kangaroo is way cuter than the rat.  Must read the book ahead of time so stop by the desk in the children’s room to pick up your copy.  Click here to see all pictures from Friday
