Goopy, Gooey, Grimy, Slimey: A Slimey Sci-Fri Day!

Today’s Sci-Fri activity was a slimey one! Using Borax, glue, water, and food coloring, the Sci-Friers created a polymer mixture (a.k.a. Slime).

How did we do it?

Here’s the recipe:

  • 1 tsp. Borax  (**Keep out of mouths and eyes**)
  • 1/2 cup – water (warm)
  • 1/2 cup – glue
  • 1/2 cup – water (room temperature)
  • food coloring

Pour half a cup of warm water into a bowl with the Borax. Stir until the Borax is completely dissolved. Then, pour the mixture into a large bowl.  Add the glue and the room temperature water to the large bowl and mix together.  Then, stir in a few drops of your favorite color food coloring!  Once your done mixing, store your slime in a plastic baggy. Refrigerate it to keep it fresh. Remember to wash your hands!

Remember, the BEST way to mix it is to use your hands!
