Today our nautical niños built their own ships. Their goal was to create the most buoyant boat and win the title of “Unsinkable”.
Each of our brave builders were given 2 6″X6″ squares of aluminum foil, scissors, and tape. One square of foil would be used to make a test boat and the second would be used to make a finalized competition-ready boat. Each finalized boat was given a crazy name before it was sent to sea.
Once our final boats were ready, we counted how may pennies each boat could hold without sinking.
The title of “Unsinkable” went to the “S.S. Tipton”, who was able to float with a cargo of 13 pennies before sinking.
