Pat Schories came to Ossining!

Author/Illustrator Pat Schories with OPL Children’s Librarians Debbie & Marci

Our 2015 Summer Reading Program and our 1,000 Books Project Kick-off took place on Saturday, June 27th. Pat Schories came to our Budarz Theater and showed us photos of the office where she illustrates the “Biscuit” books written by Alyssa Satin Capucilli, and where she writes and illustrates her own books. We saw a photo of her dogs who serve as models for Biscuit and Jack, the star of her series of wordless books. We learned about all of the steps in the book creation process and saw slides of some of her books, including her newest one, “Pants for Chuck.” After her presentation, Ms. Schories made some impromptu sketches for us: Biscuit and his “B” Things, Biscuit in the Pool and Biscuit Playing Tennis. All of Pat Schories’ books are available in the Children’s Room.
