Fibonacci Valentines

This week’s STEAM program combined math and art to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

The kids learned about the Fibonacci sequence (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34-can you figure out what comes next?) and the golden ratio. They used these numbers to make squares, then cut some of them into hearts.

They were very creative with the arrangement of the squares and hearts!
