OPL at the 90-Second Newbery Film Festival

On Saturday, March 5,  children’s librarians Marci and Debbie accompanied some of our OPL kids to the New York Public Library to attend the 5th annual 90-Second Newbery Film Festival.

The film made by Eric, Brandon, Semou, Dior, and Sofia (with a cameo by film festival creator James Kennedy in an Admiral Ackbar mask) was screened on Saturday, along with many other short films made by kids.

Here is the OPL 90-Second Newbery, Sarah Plain and Logical, based on the Newbery medal winning book Sarah Plain and Tall, by Patricia MacLachlan:

Eric, Semou, and Dior were at the film festival and were invited to come up on stage before the film was shown to talk about it.

When all the films had been shown and the festival was over our young filmakers got to meet author James Kennedy.
