Everyone knows the story of the three little pigs and the big, bad wolf. They know how the pigs built three different houses, from three different materials, and how the wolf huffed and puffed and tried to blow them all down. He succeeded in blowing down the houses made of straw and sticks, but he couldn’t blow down the house made of bricks.
Today in Full STEAM Ahead, we had our own version of the three houses. We had three teams building houses from three different materials, and then we tested them to see how they withstood the wolf.
The first team, Team Craft Sticks, did a great job. Their house didn’t move when we huffed and puffed, and it also withstood both the fan and the hair dryer.
Team Index Cards also did a great job. Their house also withstood the huffing and puffing, the fan, and the hair dryer. Unfortunately, Team Index Cards took their house home before we could get a photo of it.
Our third team, Team Drink Stirrers, was working with the lightest material. Although their house was lightweight and airy, it did a great job as well. Neither the huffing and puffing or the fan blew it down, but the hair dryer moved it a short way down the table.
