Our Winter 2017 programs are in full swing, and we’ve been having lots of fun after school. On Wednesdays at 4:15 we have Full STEAM Ahead for kids in grades 2-6. Each week, we do a fun project. The projects focus on science, technology, engineering, arts, or math.
Here is a quick look at what we’ve been doing recently.
This week we focused on engineering. The kids who attended were split into 6 teams. Each team had to build a bridge using only 25 craft sticks and 3 feet of painter’s tape. Then we tested the bridges to see which would hold the most weight. Engineering is hard!
Last week we made glow-in-the-dark structures.
Here are some kids working on smart phone speakers that we made from paper towel tubes and paper cups.
And way back on January 11, we played with static electricity.
Join us on Wednesday afternoons for more STEAM.
